Quality Assurance & Qualifications
Quality
Assurance:
Every project that comes through our shop is inspected at every step by our
qualified QA/QC inspector.
Qualifications:
ASME
Our facility is coded to perform work under section VIII, Div-1. Under this
section we can design and build vessels, heating & cooling jackets, as well as
other products up to 3000 psi. Any product that we build to this standard will
be stamped with a U stamp (U stands for Unfired product) as well as being
accompanied by a inspection report.
UL (Underwriters Laboratories)
We have two UL designations at our facility. The first is for our electrical
panels. All panels we build are built to UL standards and use UL registered
products. Our facility undergoes inspections on a routine basis. Please see our
electrical section for more information.
The other UL designation we have is for our direct gas fired kettles. We have
undergone many tests to achieve certain efficiencies and temperatures. All
direct fired kettles we build are UL classified and are test fired before
leaving our facility. This is very helpful once the product arrives at your
site. Many local inspectors require UL tags on gas fired equipment. If there is
no tags you may be required to get on site UL classification. This can be very
costly. With the tags on our equipment it means we have already undergone all
the tests and procedures to get the appliance passed. With a call to us or UL an
inspector can check on this.
NEMA
This also applies to our electrical panels. In certain situations and
installations it may be required for a panel to be completely waterproof. NEMA
has certain design requirements that need to be met to ensure a panel is truly
waterproof. This eliminates any guess work and re-engineering in the panel
construction. This is not a standard feature on all panels and needs to be
specified at the time of quotation.
